[Intro – Spoken to the crowd] “Good evening, Springfield Stadium! Are you ready to feel alive tonight?!” “This one… is for a man who fell down many times… but always found a way to rise again. Make some noise for BARNEY GUMBLE!” [Verse 1] He was lost in the neon lights, Drowning memories night by night, A lonely heart on a barstool throne, Searching for a place called home. Moe’s Tavern echo in his name, Trying to outrun all the shame, But deep inside the stormy sea, Burned the spark of who he used to be. [Pre-Chorus] And when the darkness pulled him down, He heard a distant rising sound… The voices calling out his name, A thousand hearts that lit the flame [Chorus] (with stadium crowd) [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] From the shadows of the night [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] Let me step into the light Barney, hear the people sing, Let your broken spirit wing Raise me up! [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] [Verse 2] Once a dreamer who touched the skies, Then the world dimmed before his eyes, A choir boy lost along the way, But the music never fades away. A friend to few, but a heart so true, Even Homer always knew Inside the man who drank the pain, Was someone waiting to rise again. [Pre-Chorus] And when he thought he'd reached the end, He felt the thunder of his friends A stadium shaking through the floor, Calling him to rise once more [Chorus] (bigger, louder) [Crowd: RAISE HIM UUUP!] Break the chains that held me tight [Crowd: RAISE HIM UUUP!] Let me fight the final fight Barney, hear the angels call, You can rise above it all Raise me up! [Guitar Solo] [Bridge – Half sung, half shouted] From Moe’s old door to the streets of hope, From a lifetime lost to a golden rope, Standing tall though he used to fall, Tonight he rises once and for all! [Final Chorus] (choir + fans) [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] Let my heart ignite the sky [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] Spread my wings and let me fly Barney, hear the world tonight, Every soul a shining light Raise me up! [Outro – Spoken to the crowd] “Springfield… you’ve been unbelievable tonight! Remember: even the lost can rise again… and tonight, Barney Gumble rose with YOU!” [Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!] “We love you! Goodnight!” [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!] [Crowd: RAISE HIM UP!]
