------------------------ English version When we sat down at the festive table, We all should have remembered: At that very moment, someone was looking through a rifle scope, While someone else was spending the holiday in a trench... And someone celebrated their last New Year, Leaving a grieving mother behind, And was brought home on his shield — Having fulfilled his duty to the very end. What wishes did we make that night? Wishes for justice, peace and victory... May this war end within this year, May air raid sirens no longer sound every day... May our enemy find refuge there, Where people guard rabid beasts... Where no keys are given to open the gates, And where no records are even kept... You've probably all heard that they have Mobile crematoria operating... A man was there, and suddenly disappeared, And civilians will never find out what happened... When I write these lines about them, My fingers go numb with disgust... Over those bones... And our duty is to do our part — Morally, militarily, materially, So that every one of those vile invaders is taken out, And that special crematorium has work to do... What wishes did we make that night? Wishes for justice, peace and victory... May this war end within this year, May air raid sirens no longer sound every day... May our enemy find refuge there, Where people guard rabid beasts... Where no keys are given to open the gates, And where no records are even kept...
