Isaiah 49:1–13)

(A Light to the Gentiles) (The Second Servant Song – Isaiah 49:1–13) [Instrumental Intro] (Verse 1) Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar. The Lord has called Me from the womb; From My mother's womb He named Me. He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me. He made Me a polished shaft, Hidden safely in His quiver. [Brief Instrumental] (Verse 2) He said to Me, "You are My Servant, In whom I will be glorified. "Then I said, "I have laboured in vain, I have spent My strength for nothing. "Yet surely My reward is with the Lord, And My work is with My God. My God shall be My strength, And in His sight I shall be glorious. (Chorus) Jesus Christ, our Righteousness,God's Elect, the Servant King. Light unto the waiting nations, To You alone our hearts we bring. You have called us from the darkness; By Your grace we now are free. Jesus Christ, our Righteousness, Our hope through all eternity. [Reflective Instrumental] (Verse 3) The Lord who formed Me from the womb To bring back Jacob unto Him, Says, "It is too small a thing To raise up Israel alone. I will also give You as a Light Unto the Gentiles far and near, That You should be My salvationTo the very ends of the earth." [Brief Instrumental] (Verse 4) Thus says the Lord, Redeemer, Holy One: Though despised and rejected by men, Kings shall see and rise before You; Princes also shall worship You. For the Lord is ever faithful; He has chosen You forever. [Reflective Instrumental] (Verse 5) In the day of salvation I have heard You; I will preserve You and keep You. I give You as a covenant To restore the earth once more. Say to the prisoners, "Go forth!" To those in darkness, "Show yourselves!" They shall neither hunger nor thirst, For the Lord will gently lead them. (Verse 6) By springs of living water He shall guide them on their way. He will make the mountains into roads; His highways shall be raised. From every land His people come, From north and west and distant shores.Sing, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! The Lord has comforted His people. Final Chorus Jesus Christ, our Righteousness, God's Elect, the Servant King. Light unto the waiting nations, To You alone our hearts we bring.
