You’ve been given a sheet of paper Write, and there’s a story Draw, and there’s a dream Fold the paper, and for now… Tear the paper, and there’s discontent What does it mean to be ordinary? Here’s the paper we were given We each expressed something different We each had thoughts of our own What does it mean to be ordinary? On the paper I was given, I wrote There was discontent in those words On the paper I was given, I drew a picture Someone in it had stopped in their tracks I folded the paper I was given The folded paper Takes flight, carrying a dream The paper I was given was torn I picked up the pieces and fitted them together On that sheet of paper… There was so much. Wrote, drew a line, folded it, Threw it away Wrote, drew a line, tore it, Threw it away Drawing dreams, Making up stories, Then came the words, “Just be ordinary” And I folded it, then folded it again I couldn’t quite bring myself To fold it all away, so I opened it again One little bird Flew off the page What does it mean to be ordinary? On the paper now Nothing Is left I can write something else I can draw something else I could fold it again But I end up tearing it Only then Does the story end What does it mean to be ordinary? ────────────── 💜 普通って何だろう？ 💜 普通って何だろう？ 紙が一枚、渡された 文字を書く？ 絵を描く？ 紙を折る？ 紙を破る？ 普通って何だろう？ 紙が一枚、渡された 文字を書けば、物語が 絵を描けば、夢が 紙を折れば、まだ…… 紙を破れば、不満が 普通って何だろう？ 渡された紙がある それぞれ違う表し方をした それぞれ違う思いがある 普通って何だろう？ 渡された紙に、 言葉を書いた その言葉には不満があった 渡された紙に、 絵を描いた そこには、立ち止まった人がいた 渡された紙を折った 折った紙は、 夢を乗せて飛んでいく 渡された紙は破れていた 拾い集めて、つなぎ合わせると その紙には…… いっぱい、あった。 書いて、線を引いて、折って、 捨てた 書いて、線を引いて、破って、 捨てた 夢を描いて、 物語を作っていたら、 「普通に」って言葉に 折って、また折った 全部は、折りきれなくて、 もう一度、広げてみた 小鳥が一羽、 紙から飛び立った 普通って何だろう？ 紙にはもう 何も 残っていない 別のことを書いてもいい 別の絵を描いてもいい また折ってもいいだろう ただ、結局は破ってしまう そうしてやっと、 物語は終わる 普通って何だろう？
