An experiment using the vocal stem from one song and applying it to an instrumental as a mashup. _ meant for me is surprisingly influential as a vocal stem; it took a lot of heavy lifting to break it out of its very jazzy shell lol The experiment here was to provide not only lyrics to be crammed into an existing instrumental, but additional conflicting structure to further evolve the instrumental. Let them play off of each other, in a sense. In this case, a soft, jazzy vocal track playing off of a baroque metal space opera without throwing more instruments into the already-dynamic mix. ^-^ Thanks to Likes D Ninjas for the experimental concept! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [Instrumental opening] [Operatic soprano vocalist, staccato tones as a motif] Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah [Metal Interlude] Heaven sent, you rise above it all As time and time again, I try to fall You catch me in the tenderest embrace As softly tears are streaming down my face Soft wings Gentle things Never meant for me Mmmmm Never meant for me... You guard me from myself, my every whim Each crash and crack, I'm breaking from within I've never understood your compromise My burdens, mine alone, pain I despise Yet soft wings Those gentle things Fold around me Mmmmm Warmth all around me... Why me Why me Oh, why me Mmmmmm [Operatic soprano vocalist, staccato tones as a motif] Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah [Metal Interlude] This was never meant for me Surely Surely never meant for me
