Once Upon a Time in FLS IT (Minstrel)
[Verse 1] [Gentle lute intro] Gather 'round, I'll tell a tale of one who sought his fate, Who traveled 'cross the seven seas to find his perfect mate. Through bazaars and ballrooms grand, through villages and towns, This lonely soul searched high and low for love's elusive crown! [Verse 2] At last he penned a letter to a maiden fair and bright, With trembling hand and hopeful heart, he sealed it up that night. Her portrait seemed angelic, like a guardian from above, He dreamed she'd be the answer to his quest for truest love! [Verse 3] But oh! Her answer came at last, as prickly as a thorn, She wrote with wit most sharp indeed, her words did bring him scorn. "What skills have you, oh wanderer? What talents do you claim? Show me more than pretty words, or cease this foolish game!" [Verse 4] [Tempo picks up slightly] Determined still, our hero sought to prove his worthy name, He found a cow and grabbed a pail, though milking was not his game! With clumsy hands and stubborn will, he pulled and tugged with might, While overhead a shooting star blazed brilliant through the night! [Verse 5] "A sign!" he cried, "The heavens smile upon my noble quest!" To far Tahiti sailed he then, where sheep farms lined the crest. He labored there among the flocks, his hands now rough and true, And learned to sing the shepherd songs beneath skies crystal blue! [Verse 6] [Gentle conclusion] Now by a stream he sits alone, just drinking water clear, His journey taught him lessons that no maiden's love could near. The stars, the sheep, the simple things had shown him what was true Sometimes the love we seek abroad lives right inside of you! [Outro] [Spoken with a chuckle] So ends our tale of romance sought through methods most absurd, Now toss a coin, dear listeners, for this wandering minstrel's word!
