Where Am I Going?
Where am I going, I ask again Wake up, work, come home, pretend Is it life I’m working for? Or just working ‘til it ends? Lately even food feels like a chore The things I loved don't taste like before My reflection on the subway glass Feels like someone I’ve never passed I smile because I should Haven’t felt much, though I could The seasons change without a trace Just colors fading into space Where am I going, I don’t know yet But something small won’t let me forget This morning I saw a flower bloom In the corner of a sidewalk gloom No one saw it, no one cared Still it reached for the sky, unscared I was never the kind to stand out No hero’s name, no voice that’s loud But if someone falls right next to me I’ll lend a hand, quietly Where am I going, I don’t know yet But something small won’t let me forget This morning I saw a flower bloom In the corner of a sidewalk gloom No one saw it, no one cared Still it reached for the sky, unscared Where am I going? Still unclear But I’m taking one more step from here Not all lost things are meant to stay Some find light in a quiet way Where am I going, I don’t know yet But something small won’t let me forget This morning I saw a flower bloom In the corner of a sidewalk gloom No one saw it, no one cared Still it reached for the sky, unscared Where am I going? Still unclear But I’m taking one more step from here Not all lost things are meant to stay Some find light in a quiet way
