C'est la vie holds the key to my philosophy For life is just a game With sunshine comes the rain C’est la vie And through the years  there've been some tears  and I recall  wise words you told me For they consoled me  to let things be That's how it was for me Ce'st la vie When I felt sad and life seemed mad of course I had my share of sorrow but tomorrow hides the way  so let's live for today And c'est la vie Came back to me  when my dreams  became fragmented  but that's not  to be lamented  it's how it's meant to be Sometimes we look  and we don't see  we hear the words  but not their meaning  but dreaming's  not my way  I'd rather seize the day  it's how it had to be A line was crossed When I was lost  Yet I still heard  Your distant voices the choices –
 were all mine  that's how it's meant to be C'est la vie
 I've seen the sun  and felt the rain  Lived life's pleasure and its pain  but I'd do it  all again for my choices set me free That's the life I chose for me Yes I've seen rain  and felt the pain  and I've seen tears  on tender faces  But my place is my destiny  it's how it has to be C'est la vie
 And so I gave the best I could  and so I should 
- well that's just me  but I ran  the Golden mile and had time enough to smile
 So when strife brings pain and hurt Let my life speak more than words For when sunshine follows rain you'll hear me once again  C'est la vie
