🎶 Song 125 – The Boy in the Temple
Paper 125 – Jesus at Jerusalem 🎶 Song: The Boy in the Temple (Verse 1 – Journey to Jerusalem) On the road they sang the psalm, Joseph’s care, and Mary’s calm. Jerusalem rose, the temple high, A holy dream beneath the sky. (Verse 2 – First Impressions) But coins and trade defiled the place, The cries of lambs, a bloody space. His heart of nature grieved the sound, Where love of God should most abound. (Bridge – Lover of Creation) No blood, no fear, no ritual’s claim, He longed for worship pure in name. Creation sings the Father’s voice, In living truth the soul rejoiced. (Verse 3 – Questions to the Elders) “What dwells beyond the holy veil? Why must the mothers stand so frail? Does God require the lambs to die, Or light that lifts the human cry?” (Verse 4 – Respect Earned) He asked with reverence, meek and mild, The elders marveled at the child. No pride was found, no boast, no claim, Yet wisdom burned, a holy flame. (Bridge – Humble Wisdom) He sought the truth, not to contend, And won the hearts of learned men. A boy of light, with spirit strong, His questions turned their thoughts to song. (Verse 5 – The Promise) He vowed one day to come again, To heal the hearts of broken men. Jerusalem would see the dawn, When love eternal shone upon. (Verse 6 – Parents’ Anguish) Three days they searched with hearts afraid, Through temple courts and streets they prayed. A mother’s tears, a father’s care, Their child of promise lost somewhere. (Bridge – The Reproof) “Why did you leave, our hearts in pain?” Her voice of love, a soft refrain. Yet in his eyes the truth was clear, “My Father’s house is always near.” (Verse 7 – Obedience) He bowed to them with gentle tone, Though heaven’s call was still his own. In Nazareth’s home he chose to stay, Until the dawn of God’s great day. (Chorus – Divine Awareness) The Spirit whispers, pure and near, A guiding voice the wise could hear. In Jesus’ words the flame would rise, God’s living truth before their eyes. (Outro – Eternal Return) He left the temple, meek, obeyed, Yet in his heart the vow was laid. One day the city’s walls would see, The dawn of truth, eternity.
