More Than Trinkets

[Verse 1] Candy canes they taste so sweet Gingerbread men on the street But they can't fill this heart of mine They're just symbols for this time [Verse 2] Tinsel and lights on the tree Gifts wrapped up but can't you see The greatest gift we can't unwrap It's God's love that fills the gap [Chorus] Gingerbread and candy canes Can't replace the God who reigns Eternal life's the gift we need Jesus' love our hearts will feed [Verse 3] Mistletoe won't bridge the space Between us and heavens grace Stocking's full but hearts still yearn For the peace we cannot earn [Bridge] Snowflakes falling silent night Stars above they shine so bright But no earthly charm can hold The promises that we've been sold [Chorus] Gingerbread and candy canes Can't replace the God who reigns Eternal life's the gift we need Jesus' love our hearts will feed
