Let‘s Rob The Sun

LET’S GO ROB THE SUN [Verse 1] Hey… You ever feel like God plays favorites? Like some girls get summer skin, While some girls learn survival. I learned how to smile With blood between my teeth, Learned how to wear heartbreak Like expensive jewellery. The city’s dressed in gold tonight. I look better in black. [Pre-Chorus] They can keep their perfect mornings— I was born for something else. [Chorus] Let’s go rob the sun, Let’s go rob the sun. Steal the light they saved for someone holier. They never meant for girls like us To carry anything that glows. You bring your black dress, I’ll bring the matches. We’ll leave our names Written in the ashes. Let’s go rob the sun. Baby, we’ve earned it. [Verse 2] The moon keeps all my secrets. The ocean knows them too. The saints all looked so holy Till I learned what saints can do. There’s a girl inside the mirror Still picking glass from her wings, Still learning that survival Isn’t always a beautiful thing. I used to pray for mercy. Now I pray for nerve. [Pre-Chorus] If heaven locks the front door— We’ll climb through a window. [Bridge] Nobody gets out untouched. Nobody gets out clean. The world takes pieces from you— That’s just what it means to dream. So take my hand. Forget tomorrow. Forget behaving. Forget being good. Tonight we’re taking back Everything they said We couldn’t be. [Final Chorus] Let’s go rob the sun, Let’s go rob the sun. Steal the light they saved for someone holier. They never meant for girls like us To carry anything that glows. You bring your black dress, I’ll bring the matches. We’ll leave our names Written in the ashes. Let’s go rob the sun. Baby, we’ve earned it. [Outro] The moon was always ours. The sun never was. That’s why we’re taking it.
