Fae After Midnight

[Verse 1] Three little knocks Doors open Rules are optional Come dance [Verse 2] I came for the midnight, the glitter and sin The bottle of moonlight they're pouring within I came for the bassline, the heat and the smoke To kiss someone wicked and steal someone's cloak There's wine on the speakers, there's blood in the sink Some creature is floating while teaching me to drink The goblins are gambling, the witches are high And somebody's flirting with the beast by my side I don't need a reason I don't need a name The night is delicious I'm here for the taste [Chorus] Give me more, give me more Turn the music up and lock the door More champagne, more smoke, more skin, more sin If there's trouble in the room, I'll probably join in Give me more, give me more Let the moonlight hit the floor Dance until your wings are sore Get someone you shouldn't kiss, then go back and ask for more [Verse 3] I noticed the goblin was watching the door Which was unusual, he never does that anymore A hundred years waiting, pretending he's fine Then suddenly staring at every new arrival I laughed at him, darling, you're obvious, he glared I grinned, it's one of my gifts Then she walked in, poor little mortal Wrong shoes, wrong clothes, very boring hair But something about her made the old goblin stare I watched from the bar with a drink in my hand This was getting interesting, exactly as planned Not my plan, his, but I'm happy to watch [Chorus] Give me more, give me more Turn the music up and lock the door More champagne, more smoke, more skin, more sin If there's trouble in the room, I'll probably join in Give me more, give me more Let the moonlight hit the floor Dance until your wings are sore Get someone you shouldn't kiss, then go back and ask for more [Verse 4] The ceiling disappeared, I applauded the floor Root teeth, I danced, the moon came through the roof Someone screamed, I laughed, the goblin forgot his drink Now that was interesting, she looked at him, he looked at her Neither one knew who the other were I took another sip, this was better than theater Oh, darling, keep going Three little knocks, a rhythm in the bass Something old behind her face The goblin moved closer, she stepped away, then stopped Something in her remembered something she couldn't say I watched, I waited, I smiled, and the beat came back [Chorus] Give me more, give me more Let the whole damn world deform Fairies flying, goblins screaming, witches dancing through the storm More champagne, more smoke, more skin, more sin The old rules fallen through the floors, so let the new one in Give me more, give me more I didn't come here to behave If the mortal found her way back home Well, that's rather charming [Outro] Who's that? Don't know Who's that? Don't know That's my friend That's adorable Three little knocks One old friend One very strange reunion And me I had another drink Someone set the moon on fire I'm gonna go dance
