The Silent Port/The light Beneath
[Narration – Jo] Before dawn we reach The sea smelled of iron and diesel. David killed the engine; we waited. Aymeric’s receiver throbbed with static — then a steady pulse, north by north-east. No one spoke. It was the same rhythm that had haunted our dreams. (brief technical aside) Aymeric whispered: “She’s using her old smartwatch — the one she wore in the field. If she managed to bypass the GPS lock, the heart-rate sensor could send coded bursts through saltwater acoustics. That’s how she’s still talking.” Carole stared at him. “Through her pulse?” Aymeric nodded. “Through her pulse.” [Verse 1 – Carole & Solène] Carole whispered, “My father funded these docks.” Solène answered, “But money can’t unpick locks.” The harbor lights flicked twice then died; The Aegean shone from the underside. [Bridge – Aymeric / Gyu-Young / Jane] Aymeric said, “The signal’s close.” Gyu-Young pointed, “There — that ghost of boats.” Jane tapped coordinates, frowned in awe: “The source is moving. It shouldn’t at all.” [Verse 2 – David] We boarded the trawler, ropes half-cut, Engines cold yet lights abrupt. Inside the hold, beneath the crates, A steel device that pulsed and waits. I touched its shell — it flashed her tone, Emma’s heartbeat, not my own. [Chorus – Emma (transmission, clearer)] If you hear me, don’t be afraid. The dark is deep, but it can fade. Follow the current, follow the line, I’m somewhere between your world and mine. [Bridge – Jo Narration / Team Decision] Jane said, “It’s a relay buoy — submersible.” Aymeric nodded, “She found a way to speak through water.” Carole: “Then she’s alive. And they’re near the reef.” David: “Then we move. Now.” No one argued. The sun was coming up, but we were already descending. [Verse 3 – Collective Voice] Through olive fields and quarry veins, We followed signal like a vein. No law, no state, no oath to keep — Only the living searching the deep. [Final Chorus – Ensemble] Signals beneath the sea, Now guide our destiny. We follow ghosts through circuitry, Through myth reborn in secrecy. The pulse grows louder — one, then three… She’s somewhere there, beneath the sea. [Outro – Jo Narration] The trawler drifted on its own. We watched We watched We watched
