Tight-Chest Interference

Little man, I see your mind race differently, Big waves crashin’ emotionally, instantly, One small problem turns gigantic internally, Then the whole world feels against you accidentally. And I know that feelin’ mate… honestly. Like your chest gets tight and your thoughts start spiralling, Like everybody’s talkin’ but nobody’s hearin’, Like your own damn brain turns into interference. One minute you’re laughin’, building worlds from imagination, Next minute every sound feels like confrontation, Guard dog barkin’, walls up snappin’, Tiny nervous system permanently overreactin’. Mum cries quietly, Dad drives silently, Whole house tired from surviving anxiety, Walking on eggshells trying not to trigger eruptions, Then feeling guilty for the frustration. Mindfully masking our helplessness visually, Still trying to carry this whole thing willingly, Searching for balance through doctors and medicine, Praying one day your mind finds steadiness. Fast-thought, chest-knots, tension all through us, Big feelings trapped in a little boy’s movement, Storm eyes, short fuse, hurt hidden deeply, Pushin’ away the people who love you completely. But hear me… You are NOT the storm mate. You’re the kid trapped INSIDE the storm. That’s different. And I know right now you probably see us as villains, Like Mum and Dad just don’t get your feelings, But every hard talk, every boundary set, Comes from fear we might lose connection instead. Because underneath all the chaos and reactions, There’s the sweetest little boy hidden in fragments, The one who cuddles close when the noise dies down, The one who still wants love even when he shuts us out. And those tiny moments? Mate… they save us. When your nervous system finally softens enough, And you let us see the real you underneath the rough, Those little windows of affection and peace Hit harder than words could ever speak. Like when you laugh so hard your whole face changes, Or randomly say “Dad” in that tiny voice sacred, Or climb in beside us when the world feels scary, Like your heart still knows we’re your safety. And I wish I could explain this pain away instantly, Wish I could physically lift it outta your history, Wish I could show you your brain ain’t broken, It’s just overloaded and emotionally open. See some people feel life louder than others, Lights brighter, sounds sharper, emotions tougher, And you’ve been carrying that weight since little, Trying to survive while your thoughts stay brittle. Quick shifts, big dips, dopamine chasing, Tiny frustrations mentally earthquaking, Then afterwards you sit there sad and confused, Like “why’d I react like that?” hurting too. And mate… That part breaks our hearts most. Because we KNOW you’re trying. Even when it doesn’t look like it. Even when the whole house feels exhausted. Even when everybody’s overwhelmed. We see the fight inside you. Storm-built, soft-heart, deeply connected, Big love trapped behind overloaded tension, Strong soul trying to learn emotional balance, Little man carrying invisible damage. And listen carefully now — There is NOTHING wrong with who you are. Your brain works different. Your feelings hit harder. Your reactions move quicker. But none of that makes you unlovable. Not for one second. One day you’ll understand this whole thing clearer, One day you’ll look back and see the bigger picture, And maybe realise Mum and Dad weren’t against you, We were just standing beside you trying to help through. Even when we got it wrong sometimes. Even when we looked tired. Even when the house felt heavy. Because love ain’t perfection mate. Love is staying. And we’re not going anywhere.
