Three of Hearts - The Fireborn Genesis, pt I

She laughed, and the candlelight danced, Tiny hands glowing under my hands. Mama said, “Hide it, baby, not tonight,” But fire knows fear, by the shape of light. Three hearts quiet, in a one-room dark, False names stitched, over every scar. We held her close, when the headlights passed, Praying love, could outrun the past! Cheap motel walls, the paint peeled thin, Cartoons glow, while the rain creeps in. Little sparks dance, when she counts to three, Like stars got trapped, in her tiny sleeves. Mama hums low, when the streetlights pass, Daddy checks locks, with a shaking hand. Every new town, gets another last name, Every back road, wears the same damn flame. She draws suns, on a paper plate, Crayon halos, with a crooked face. We laugh, then hide, when the candles shake, Love looks normal, till the windows break. Black vans crawl, past the county line, Green eyes grin, with a church-bell smile. We keep running, but the trail stays bright, Like fire leaves fingerprints, in the heat of the night... Sirens bloom, in the glass outside, Mama pulls her close, tries not to cry. Daddy says, “Baby, don’t leave my sight,” Then the whole room fucking screams! Hold on tight! — Hold on tight! Little flame in the dead of night. Hold on tight! — Hold on tight! Three of hearts in the wolves’ headlights. Run, baby, run! — Don’t look back, Black vans roll... where the sky turns black. Love don’t die... when the lights go dark, It burns like hell... in three broken hearts... Black vans breathe, at the end of the lot, Doors swing wide, like a coffin unlocked. Boots hit rain, with a surgical stomp, Masks move clean, like the whole thing’s clocked. Mama snaps bright, like a wire in rage, Streetlights burst, into glass and flame. Daddy swings hard, but the darts hit veins, Love turns war, in a motel frame. She screams once, and the windows glow, Tiny hands, throwing suns through smoke. Vexis walks calm, where the hot winds blow, Like he came to collect, what the darkness owed. He says, “Easy now, little fire born spark, Love burns loud, but it leaves a mark.” They bag her light, in a blackout hood, Then the whole fucking night, turns black for good. Her small hand slips from mine in the rain, Mama screams loud enough to split my name. They drag our little sun from the light, And all I can hear is... "AURORA!" Vexis smiled like a saint gone wrong, Green eyes bright where the red lights shone. Said, “Three hearts make a perfect song, But broken love is where power belongs.” “Mother’s grief is a signal flare, Father’s rage is a loaded prayer." "That little flame was never just rare, She’s the match we were meant to prepare.” He touched my head, like a priest would bless, Said, “Pain draws maps through the human chest." "Love ain’t weakness love is the fuse, And grief tells fire what it’s born to do.” Then he leaned close, said, “Please understand." "I don’t break hearts, I reveal the plan." "A child burns brightest when torn from hands, Now watch what love becomes..." "Death in command!" Black bags tight, the road hums low, Mama’s voice fades, where the taillights go. I taste blood, when I bite my tongue, But I still hear her crying, in my lungs. They take us east, where the black roots crawl, Roanoke ghosts, in the concrete walls. Same old word, in the white-hall calls, Like the woods learned grief, through these walls. They take her west, through the cornfield dark, Midwest lab with a fireproof heart. Tiny flame in a steel-glass ark, Little hands shaking, while the tests all start. Three roads split, from a motel scar, Mother, father... and a stolen star. Vexis smiled, from a blacked-out car, Like he just signed off hell... With a blood-tipped cigar! Hold on tight! — Hold on tight! Little flame in the dead of night. Hold on tight! — Hold on tight! Three of hearts in the wolves’ headlights. Scream, baby, scream! — Don’t fade black, Black vans gone down a dead-end track. Love don’t die when they tear us apart, It burns like hell in three broken hearts. Her cry got small through the steel and rain, Like a match held out in a hurricane. Mama prayed hard, till her voice went numb, Daddy screamed, but the dark didn’t run. Somewhere west, in a room too white, A little flame learned to fear the light. They took our hearts, down separate lines, But fire remembers what love leaves behind...
