Jo Bench’s Devoid - 5. No Light Within

Eyes open Nothing seen Cold reflection Staring back at me No direction No guiding flame Every answer Dies the same NO LIGHT WITHIN Nothing burns NO LIGHT WITHIN No return Through the darkness Through the din Search forever No light within Every doorway Leads me back Every pathway Fades to black No horizon No distant glow Only further Down below NO LIGHT WITHIN Nothing burns NO LIGHT WITHIN No return Through the darkness Through the din Search forever No light within — Bass and drums break — Cut the noise. Kill the sound. Feel the darkness Closing down. No beacon. No flame. No answer— WITHIN. — Fast riff returns — Black above Black below No destination Left to know NO LIGHT WITHIN Nothing burns NO LIGHT WITHIN No return No illusion No origin Only darkness NO LIGHT WITHIN.
