[Verse] I came from Omaha in a hot air dream A circus act with a silent scream Ventriloquist tricks They made them cheer But my heart said fly Not stay down here [Prechorus] So I rose I soared The crowds grew small The strings got twisted I lost it all [Chorus] I am Oz The great and terrible Behind the smoke It’s all repairable No spells No spark Just gears that hum They see a Wizard But I’m just a man undone [Verse 2] The balloon broke free It kissed the sky Above the clouds where the secrets lie I came down hard on this emerald stage They crowned me king of a glittering cage [Prechorus] The witches watch Their power burns If they find me out The tide will turn [Chorus] I am Oz The great and terrible Behind the curtain Nothing’s venerable No wands No flames Just clever hands A master faker in a magic land [Spoken Harshly] Kill the Wicked Witch of the West, And I’ll send you back to Kansas.
