[verse 1] He arrived in a small perforated box On September 7th 1976 I gave him a name and a place to sit And that was pretty much it Rocky never outgrew his box Never wanted a bike or a cell phone He spends his days quiet on the windowsill And watches the world from his cardboard throne [CHORUS] Fifty years and he still lives here Same face and he never looks older He’s seen me laugh, he’s seen me cry He’s never said goodbye He doesn’t talk, he doesn’t complain He just sits near the windowpane If you ask me how he’s doing today I’d say Rocky's doing the same [verse 2] He doesn't eat a bite of food Doesn't bark, meow, or squawk Never been sick a day in his life And he's never been on a walk He’s survived three moves and a global pandemic A flood and a tornado, too He’s been dropped on the floor so many times And he's still as good as new [CHORUS] Fifty years and he still lives here Same face and he never looks older He’s seen me laugh, he’s seen me cry He’s never said goodbye He doesn’t talk, he doesn’t complain He just sits near the windowpane If you ask me how he’s doing today I’d say Rocky's doing the same [verse 3] Today the candles burn bright And there’s a cake on the table He can make his own wish But I'll blow out the candles for him So here’s to you, my faithful friend You’ve had a pretty good run Fifty years without a single word And you’ve never hurt anyone [FINAL CHORUS] Fifty years and he still lives here Same face and he never looks older He’s seen it all without a sound Best rock I've ever found So raise a glass to my oldest friend Rock solid from beginning to end Here’s to another fifty years Rocky, don't you ever change...
