[Verse 1] Rust on the blade Blood on my shirt Boot prints baked In that dry red dirt Bottle in the ditch Bible on the floor Dealer at the back door smilin' Sayin' "you want more?" [Chorus] Live by the sword Die by the sword That's what my granddaddy swore Cut your deals Shake that hand But the steel keeps score Live by the sword Die by the sword You can't outrun that door When it swings back through your lies It don’t miss twice [Verse 2] Tattoo on my neck Names I can’t pronounce Every favor I collected Came with some account Woman in the hallway Packin' up my sins Said "you sleep beside that blade You won't wake again" [Chorus] [Bridge] [low vocal register] One man in a pine box One man on the run Judge in a black coat Pointin' like a gun [build] You hear boots on the stairwell You hear them boards complain That’s the edge you been carryin' Comin' back with your name [Chorus]
