Dan loves Dan (September Remix Challenge)

[Intro] This is a song about Dan Dan is great Just ask Dan [Verse 1] Dan keeps a photograph of Dan Above the honest clock He kisses it good morning Then he kisses it a lot Wife in the kitchen counting years Kids learning how to wait Dan says family is important Right after Dan is great [Pre-Chorus] He claps when he enters He toasts his own name Love is a mirror That learned his face [Chorus] Dan loves Dan More than the house More than the vows More than the little hands Dan loves Dan And Dan’s just fine The room can empty He’s still in it With the one he loves The most Himself Dan’s fine [Verse 2] Birthdays orbit Dan He forgets the other dates He talks through their stories Then he rates his own day She packed a bag in daylight So he couldn’t call it weather The kids took the quiet Dan took the better mirror [Pre-Chorus] He waved from the porch Like a king on a coin If they needed more of him They should have joined [Chorus] Dan loves Dan More than the house More than the vows More than the little hands Dan loves Dan And Dan’s just fine The room can empty He’s still in it With the one he loves The most Himself Dan’s fine [Bridge] Counselor said “emptiness” Dan heard “more stage” Pastor said “your neighbor” Dan heard “opening act” The house got light The fridge got honest Dan bought a frame And put Dan in it twice [Guitar Solo] [Final Chorus] Dan loves Dan The family learned the door Dan loves Dan He never kept the score He’s got company He’s got a date He’s got the only person He ever thought was great Dan’s fine Dan’s fine Dan’s fine [Outro] How’s Dan? Dan’s fine
