(KAVOD) (The Weight of His Glory) (Verse 1) Before all time, beyond all date, The heavens sing Your endless worth, Your glory fills the sea and earth. No mind can grasp, no tongue declare The weight of glory everywhere. You are not merely what I know— You are the God who made it so. (Chorus) Kavod, Kavod, The weight of who You are, The glory of Your holiness, More wondrous than the stars. Kavod, Kavod, Your splendour fills the earth, Revealing Your infinite worth. (Verse 2 — The Vertical Limit) I reached my vertical limit, The highest thought my mind could give. I searched beyond what I could know, And wondered where my thoughts could go. But there was no empty space, No endless dark, no hiding place. The void was only in my mind— Your glory had been there all the time. (Refrain) There was no void. There was God. There was Kavod. There was holiness. Beyond my vertical limit, Beyond all I can know— The infinite weight Of who You are. (Verse 3 — Glory Veiled) The glory filling heaven's throne Was veiled in flesh in Christ the Son. The God whose glory filled the tent Walked among us, heaven-sent. The Holy One, the Living Word, The One by whom all things were formed, Came near to us in Jesus Christ— The glory of the God made known. (Calvary) And on the cross, the weight was shown, The holiness of God made known. The spotless Lamb, the Holy One, Bore all our sin upon the tree. The glory that fills creation Became veiled in human flesh. The weight of divine holiness Was borne upon the cross. (Central Refrain) The glory we sought in the heavens above Was hanging before us in Jesus the Son. The glory we thought was beyond our reach Was bearing our sin upon Calvary's tree. The cross was not the absence of Kavod— It was glory at its greatest weight. (Final Refrain) There was no void. There was God. There was Kavod. There was holiness. Beyond my vertical limit, Beyond all I can know— The infinite weight Of who You are. (Final Declaration) God is not merely The greatest reality I know about. He is the greatest reality there is. There was no void. There was God. There was Kavod. There was holiness. And the mystery did not disappear. It became worship.
