[Intro] [Warm Acoustic Guitar] [Gentle Strings] A voyage of wonder, a twist of fate, A love that sailed beyond the horizon. Robin and me... Panama Canal and Acapulco... And one unexpected week we'll never forget. [Verse 1] In two thousand six we set sail together, Robin by my side through tropical weather. The Panama Canal was a marvel to see, Great towering locks opened patiently. Emerald forests stretched mile after mile, Every new shoreline brought another smile. Ships from the world all passed us along, Nature and history singing one song. [Verse 2] Then Acapulco welcomed us ashore, With music and laughter from every door. Beautiful markets in bright colors glowed, Women in elegant dresses wherever we strolled. The people were friendly with warm smiling faces, Wonderful meals in unforgettable places. Each sunset painted the sea with delight, Robin beside me made everything right. [Instrumental Break] [Mariachi Trumpet Solo] [Spanish Guitar] [Latin Percussion] [Ocean Waves] [Verse 3] Then the airline called with surprising news, "Our schedule has changed—you've got two choices to choose." "Catch a midnight flight back home tonight, Or stay one more week with everything supplied." We looked at each other and started to grin, The easiest travel decision we'd ever been in. One more week in paradise, nothing to pay, So thanks to the airline—we happily stayed! [Verse 4] Our hotel overlooked the sparkling blue sea, The place where The African Queen came to be. From the ninth-floor balcony I stepped outside, While Robin stayed safely and smiled from inside. Then I spotted a crack by the concrete wall, Nearly two inches wide—that gave me a call. They said years ago an earthquake had shaken the shore, And repairs hadn't reached that balcony floor. I quietly walked back and closed the door tight, Never stepped out there again that night. I never told Robin what I had found... Why steal her peace with a worrying sound? [Outro] Those forests still whisper... those canal locks still rise, Acapulco still dances beneath golden skies. But the greatest adventure wasn't where we would roam, It was sharing each journey with the one I called home. Robin, my sweetheart, wherever we may be, Those memories keep sailing forever with me.
