This song is for everyone. That said, Lucilius' song, Fire and Ash, reached me and tore something up from the depths of me. I was moved to the point of wanting to respond. I hope he hears this and is empowered. Again, this is for everyone. I hope everyone who listens and feels it can be edified, or at least be able to make it another day. This is the Lucilius song that inspired me: https://suno.com/song/4cc40fcb-3bfb-4aea-91cd-42cfb9203b7f ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Fingernails scratch at a fraying seam The night leaks in through the cracks in me Tangled breaths in a borrowed room Counting stars that forgot how to bloom But something stirs in the hollow part Like a stubborn drum in a broken heart Even embers can light the sky Even whispers can turn the tide Even ghosts leave footprints behind Even broken wings can still ride the thermals high If you’re fading, you’re still burning bright If you’re falling, you’re still in flight The night is wide, but you're wide too— You are not lost. You are not through. Carving names in the fog on the glass Hope is brittle, and so it still cracks Carry your ruins like a holy thing Stay with the stones till the silence sings Because somewhere deep inside you, the light looks thin A fire keeps breathing under your skin Even embers can light the sky Even whispers can turn the tide Even ghosts leave footprints behind Even broken wings can still ride the thermals high If you’re fading, you’re still burning bright If you’re falling, you’re still in flight The night is wide, but you're wide too— You are not lost. You are not through. Fall if you must Break if you must We are not made less by the cracks in us Fall if you must Break if you must We are not lost by the cracks in us Even embers can light the sky Even whispers can turn the tide Even ghosts leave footprints behind Even broken wings can still ride the thermals high If you’re fading, you’re still burning bright If you’re falling, you’re still in flight The night is wide, but you're wide too— You are not lost. You are not through. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ © 2025 The Badfatler All rights reserved.
