Hvassönn
Hear now the tale of Hvassönn's band! The shieldmaiden led them with blade in hand, She grabbed the sword from her father's mound, the draugr woke and she wielded what she just found. The sword was cursed, or so it seemed, she laughed and said: "My blade will stilll kill ye!" The raven turned as the wolf-jaw appear, Odin watched from his high hills. Hvassönn! Hvassönn! Hold now the line! The cold earth drinks what once was mine! We give our blood to the iron sky, so those behind us need not to die! Skål! Skål! The bear-shirts roared beneath the moon, the draugr rose together like a platoon. By dawn the field lay dead and still, The sword had drunk... and had its fill. But the curse's strong and written in stone, You cannot change fate nor cannot atone. She feasts tonight in Odin's Halls, The sword's now lost on the battlefield! Hvassönn! Hvassönn! Her line held true! The cold earth took her, but not you. We give our blood to the iron sky, and... Her name shall never die! Skål! Skål! By Huginn's eye... By the Serpent's demise... And by the Wolf's last breath... Know her legend lives... beyond her death... In Valhalla's Halls.
