Fading Horizons

The road ahead is shrouded in grey, Each step I take, I lose my way. No voices call, no hands to hold, The warmth is gone, my soul is cold. Ahhh... ooooh... mmmm... Eeeeh... ahhh... uuuu... I see the cracks in the mirror's face, A life once whole, now out of place. The echoes whisper, they call my name, But all they bring is hollow pain. The stars are dim, the night is long, I hum a tune to a wordless song. The weight of time upon my chest, I close my eyes and hope for rest. The silence grows, it fills the air, A heavy heart left in despair. Each note dissolves, each tear is dry, The end has come, no need to try.
