------------ NOTE ------------ I suppose I can do a little post mortem on this song, now that SSC8 is over. Don't know if anyone is gonna read it, but what the heck. This song came about partly because I wanted to go in a completely different direction from my SSC7 song, which was a bit more abstract and low key, and I hadn't yet found my style at that time. I knew immediately that my SSC8 entry had to be different, and it had to be more focused, while still showcasing what I do on the platform, (namely bleeps and bloops, external dread, and unhinged punk vocals). Inspired by my own experiences in office culture, and having just re-watched Being John Malkovich, as well as a recent bingewatch of Severance (which Seb impressively referenced in one of the streams), I had a theme down, and the bitter sarcasm just came flowing, really. I was pretty pleased with the final song, or I had made it as interesting as I could, at least, so I thought my chances of standing out were higher than in SSC7, but I did NOT expect to make it to the finals, and certainly not as high up as #14! Past some really impressive songs made by talented folks who undoubtedly know more about music than I do, so that was absolutely mind boggling, really. Seeing the great responses from the commitee live was really something too, with even Seb saying that he'd been singing it around the house! That was really cool to hear, as I rarely tend to think of my songs making any impact outside of this website! And also a big thank you to the people who seemed to connect with it in chat, those messages meant a lot to me, even if I didn't always respond. SSC8 was really, really fun, and being in the top 15 of about 500 entries is absolutely crazy. I just push buttons and music comes out. Thank you all, and I'll see y'all for SSC9! ------------- LYRICS ------------- File it, send it, push it, mail it, File it, send it, push it, forward File it, send it, push it, let it, (File it, send it, push it, let it) (File it, send it, push it, let it) Drones in synchronization, Every movement all the same, Only words, send them upwards, Human Rights, down the drain, Got the population waiting for a- One way conversation to respond Proper procedures to cure your seizures, Follow the rules till you're dead and gone.
