[Verse 1] I found a map in a shoe box lid No street names, just a little kid Drawn in blue with a crooked sun Pointing at a place no one had come from There was a key in a cracked glass jar Wrapped in twine in the back of the car I held it up to the afternoon Like it might unlock the moon [Pre-Chorus] And I thought, maybe this is how You leave the ordinary now One small thing in your hand Turns into a different land [Chorus] Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges Sweet little spark in my pocket I shake it and I can't stop it Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges One bright bite, one bright bite I’m alive tonight [Verse 2] On the corner, a paper kite Caught in the wind like it knew flight A dog barked once at a passing train Then everything looked brand new again I kept that key in my coat all day Never once did it slip away Funny how the smallest weight Can change the shape of a day [Pre-Chorus] And I thought, maybe this is how You leave the ordinary now One small thing in your hand Turns into a different land [Chorus] Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges Sweet little spark in my pocket I shake it and I can't stop it Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges One bright bite, one bright bite I’m alive tonight [Bridge] If the sky goes gray I still know the way Follow the peel and the trace To that gold little place [Final Chorus] Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges Sweet little spark in my pocket I shake it and I can't stop it Pocket full of oranges Pocket full of oranges One bright bite, one bright bite I’m alive tonight
