I have been in humble places I’ve been lifted up to fly I have dreamed and had hopes answered Others shattered, wondered why I have prayed and grieved and fasted Felt I cried out all my tears Burdened down with heavy heartache That at times did last for years But through every situation Every trial, every pain I have always clung to Jesus Found His promises remain In the deepest darkest valley In the crushing freezing rain In the lostness of the shadows The love of Christ sustained Though I couldn’t always feel Him Though I thought Him far away When I poured my soul out to Him He would always guide my way Sometimes just a tiny footstep After falling on my face Crying all my heartaches to Him He would help and give me grace Until the sun would shine upon me Until my soul would see His light He truly never did abandon He was making things all right He was working on things for me He was showing Himself true He was picking up the pieces He was making all things new
