When Heaven Tore Open **Verse 1:** I love you, Lord, my strength when I am breaking My fortress in the chaos, my refuge when I’m shaking The cords of death were tightening, the darkness pulled me in But I cried out from the shadows and you heard me once again **Pre‑Chorus:** From your holy place above You received my desperate call And the earth began to tremble As your fury shook it all **Chorus:** When heaven tore open, you came riding on the wind Fire in your footsteps, thunder rolling from within You reached into the waters where the deep was pulling me And you lifted me to freedom because you delighted in me My Rock, my Deliverer, my King I will sing, I will sing **Verse 2:** You trained my hands for battle, made my footing sure and strong You lit my lamp in darkness when the night was far too long You armed me with your power, made my enemies retreat You set me on the high ground with the victory at my feet **Pre‑Chorus:** Your way is always perfect Your word is always true Who is God besides you Who can save the way you do **Chorus:** When heaven tore open, you came riding on the wind Fire in your footsteps, thunder rolling from within You reached into the waters where the deep was pulling me And you lifted me to freedom because you delighted in me My Rock, my Deliverer, my King I will sing, I will sing **Bridge:** You make my feet like the deer You drive away every fear You broaden paths beneath me So I will not fall You raise me over nations You silence every foe Your unfailing love surrounds me Everywhere I go **Final Chorus:** When heaven tore open, you came riding on the wind Fire in your footsteps, thunder rolling from within You reached into the waters where the deep was pulling me And you lifted me to freedom because you delighted in me My Rock, my Deliverer, my King I will sing, I will sing
