Smile through the blood

They spit the venom right into your face They want to erase you from the human race The iron boots are stepping on your neck Leaving your body as a bloody wreck But underneath the dirt and broken bone You are the hardest seed they ever sown You wipe the blood and stand up from the grave This is the only thing you have to save Smile at the fire when it burns you down You are the king inside a broken crown Laugh at the shadows when they eat the light We are the heavy children of the night Smile at the world when it tears you apart Show them the iron of a heavy heart They feed you poison in a plastic cup They hit you hard until you give it up The walls are closing and the air is tight They want to see you fading in the night But every time they push you in the mud You rise again and wash away the blood You wipe the blood and stand up from the grave This is the only thing you have to save Smile at the fire when it burns you down You are the king inside a broken crown Laugh at the shadows when they eat the light We are the heavy children of the night Smile at the world when it tears you apart Show them the iron of a heavy heart Show your teeth Show your teeth Let them see you smile Let them see you smile Smile at the fire when it burns you down You are the king inside a broken crown Laugh at the shadows when they eat the light We are the heavy children of the night Smile at the world when it tears you apart Show them the iron of a heavy heart Smile through the blood Smile through the blood
