I don’t make much an impression I don’t put people at ease I’m not anybody’s obsession Girls say “thank you”, but never “please” Oh, sure I’ve got a pretty voice Doesn’t help me with the ladies though I never seem to be the lady’s choice They say I got a face made for radio! I don’t take my blessings for granted But my looks, they’re more of a curse I once told a girl, “I’m enchanted” She said, “hmph, for better or worse?” I gotta say I can’t hardly blame ‘em Would I wanna date me? No! If I were them, I’d say the same and Say that I got a face made for radio! Of course I been in love plenty This one dame was truly a dime For my part, I’m more of a penny That doesn’t buy many valentines! I asked her what she thought of me She said she couldn’t hate me, no She said, in fact, my singing was lovely It’s just that I got a face made for radio! [bridge] I once sang a Halloween concert I went up to a girl to ask Did she wanna dance? And she said she’d be honored But first, could I take off the mask? My friends set me up with a good’un I was certain the date would go fine Apparently I misunderstood ‘em When they’d told me my date would be blind! Well my chips have already been counted The good Lord made me so He must have liked the way I sounded Because I got a face made for radio!
