He watches the world outside Pupils small, but eyes open wide The things he's seen, pressed against the screen. They fuel the fire inside. He always gets pushed around The others always beating him down. They both attack, he don't fight back. He's thought of skippin' town. Gus, Gus, the guests are gone. You can come out now. Gus, Gus, where have you gone? I hear your soft meow. Oh Gus, Gus, out the window. He's not all that smart. Gus, Gus, where did he go? He's a wildcat at heart. Resting in the window's light. Runs for his life all through the night. Climbing high, no reason why, Eyes are glowing with no lights. He's got that paralyzing stare. Around the fishes, he really seems to care. He's never rude, don't eat much food, "Gus, get down from up there!" Gus, Gus, the company left. It's safe to come out now. Gus, Gus, are you still under the bed? Listen for your sweet meow. Oh Gus, Gus, wanders just out of sight. In the cabinet from the start. Gus, Gus, from morning to night, He's a wildcat at heart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) Such a sweetheart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) Isn't all that smart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) Others tear him apart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) He's a wildcat at heart. Gus, Gus, all the guests a leaving. You can come out now. Gus, Gus, You may not believe me, But you've gotta trust me now. Oh Gus, Gus, loafing on the wall. In the crawlspace in the dark. Gus, Gus, about to lose it all. He's a wildcat at heart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) He's a wildcat at heart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) He's a wildcat at heart. (Gus Gus Gus Gus) He's a wildcat at heart.
