Only a Day (Slack Key Serenade) [Male Vocal Mix]

You walk down the jetty today dear Is this our last goodbye Hybiscus you wear so well dear As you cast it to the tide You promised that you would return A promise I hold in vain So I’ll wait until you come home dear Like the roses wait for the rain I fill my eyes with the mountains And smell the fresh sea air But my heart is yearning for you dear And a hope that you still care As the seaplane lifts from the water, And the sun fades far away Why did you give me your love dear If it lasted only a day Please tell me Why did you give me your love dear If it lasted Only A day Only a day Only a day
