REAL UGLY

V5.5

Why are we so quick to judge When someone doesn’t fit your mold? Acting like your hands are clean While your own darkness shows. What makes you think you’re better? What makes you so damn pure? Because people full of hatred Usually hurt deep at their core. Real ugly isn’t scars or flaws Or someone being different than you, Real ugly is a hateful heart That enjoys what pain can do. Pretty faces mean nothing When your heart is black as sin, Because eventually your true colors Always bleed right through your skin. You throw your stones at innocent souls While hiding all your pain inside, Because people busy hurting others Usually hate themselves inside. Real ugly isn’t scars or flaws Or someone being different than you, Real ugly is a hateful heart That enjoys what pain can do. We judge souls before we know them Based on what our eyes can see, Then wonder why this world feels cold And drowning in misery. Some of the kindest souls alive Wear scars they cannot hide, While some dressed up in “perfection” Are rotting deep inside. Because beauty means nothing If your heart is filled with hate, A soul can look like heaven And still be rotten at the gate. One day all the masks will fall And the truth will finally speak, Because cruel hearts always crumble No matter how strong they seem.
