Dock Lights Don’t Lie

[static] [radio chatter] “Shift 03 online… confirm all lanes clear…” [beep] “Copy… all units accounted for…” [Verse 1 — Establishing Normality] 3AM hum, lights low glow [footsteps] painted lines I already know Forklifts sleeping in steel rows Everything repeats, same old flow Scanner green, routine clean [beep] nothing breaks the machine They say rules keep us aligned But the floor don’t read those lines [Verse 2 — First Anomaly] [beep] aisle 7 flickers red But no truck shows ahead Just static in the radio feed Like something breathing underneath “Who’s moving dock side 3?” No reply comes back to me Just a pause in the system tone Like the warehouse spoke alone [Pre-Chorus — Unease Builds] You feel it before you see [echo] something shifting underneath Not loud… not fast… just near Like it learned how to appear [Chorus — First Warning Signal] [beep] dock lights don’t lie They just blink when something’s by [alarm] but no one’s in the lane Still the system calls my name Red flicker in the far line [bass hum] not mine… not mine Dock lights don’t lie But they don’t explain why [Verse 3 — First Hint of Her] Radio cracks mid-sentence slow [static] voice turns hollow “—confirm visual on unit—” Then nothing follows through it But I swear I hear it now [beep] distant… somehow Not machine… not crew Just movement I never knew [Outro — Setup] “…dock status?” “…uncertain…” [beep fades] Shift still running… but different now
