[steady acoustic guitar strumming] [chorus] Down yonder in the woods out in Tennessee There's a cabin tucked back in the evergreens It's a place that I made just for you and me To escape from this world we know It's a place that you'll find I can guarantee You can lay by my side 'n confide in me Where Georgia waters flow like the seven seas It's a place that I made for you [verse 1] I cut the brush back off the drive last spring Fixed that front step and the screen door hinge Put fresh paint on the porch where the old boards groaned Hung a lantern by the bed and stoked that stove Kept your kind of coffee in the tin by the sink A chipped mug on the shelf and a note on a string If you ever got tired of the noise and the chrome I wanted this place to already feel like home [chorus] Down yonder in the woods out in Tennessee There's a cabin tucked back in the evergreens It's a place that I made just for you and me To escape from this world we know It's a place that you'll find I can guarantee You can lay by my side 'n confide in me Where Georgia waters flow like the seven seas It's a place that I made for you [verse 2] I built a little room where the morning comes slow Can hear that creek talk low through the cedar row Left a hook by the door for your denim jacket A quilt on the couch and a radio set back There’s jars in the cupboard, peaches from July And a half-racked firewood stack for the coldest nights When your phone loses bars and the whole world fades You won’t need a thing but the name on the gate [chorus] Down yonder in the woods out in Tennessee There's a cabin tucked back in the evergreens It's a place that I made just for you and me To escape from this world we know It's a place that you'll find I can guarantee You can lay by my side 'n confide in me Where Georgia waters flow like the seven seas It's a place that I made for you
