[Verse 1] They came from the stars, eight arms and a grin No spaceship, no war – just a tentacle in They landed in the ocean, they crawled to the shore And started a party like never before [Chorus] Octopuses from outer space, groovy and weird They're dancing on the beach, they're not to be feared With accordion, whistle, and a clapping hand The aliens have come – and they're taking command [Verse 2] They juggled the coconuts, three at a time Taught all the jellyfish how to keep time A seagull was DJ, the tide brought the bass And nobody cared about conquering space [Chorus] Octopuses from outer space, groovy and weird They're dancing on the beach, they're not to be feared With accordion, whistle, and a clapping hand The aliens have come – and they're taking command [Bridge] No lasers, no shields, just a shimmering glow They wave and the sunset starts putting on a show They don't want your planet, they just want the beat So wiggle your arms and get up on your feet [Chorus] Octopuses from outer space, groovy and weird They're dancing on the beach, they're not to be feared With accordion, whistle, and a clapping hand The aliens have come – and they're taking command [Outro] Taking command… [clap, clap] Taking command… [whistle melody fades] Eight arms high – wave ‚em to the sky Octopuses say goodbye, bye, bye!
