Now that we understand who Yahushua is, we need to pay even closer attention to what we have heard. We must hold on to these teachings so they don't slip away from us. Think about the messages delivered through angels. Those words carried authority, and every act of disobedience received the punishment it deserved. So what makes us think we could escape the consequences of ignoring such a great salvation? Yahushua first announced this salvation, and the people who heard him confirmed his message to us. Elohim also confirmed their testimony through signs, wonders, powerful miracles, and gifts of the Ruach Hakodesh, given according to his will. Now consider the world that is coming. Elohim has not placed that future world under the authority of angels. The Scripture asks an important question. Why does Elohim care so deeply about human beings? Why does he pay attention to the son of man? He made him a little lower than the angels, crowned him with glory and honor, and placed him over the works of his hands. Elohim put everything beneath his feet, giving him authority over all things. But when we look around today, we can see that everything is not yet under his authority. What we do see is Yahushua. He was made a little lower than the angels so that he could experience suffering and death. And now he is crowned with glory and honor because, through the grace of Elohim, he tasted death for everyone. Everything exists for Elohim and through Elohim. And as he brings many sons into glory, it was fitting that Yahushua, the leader of their salvation, would be made complete through suffering. The one who makes people holy and those who are made holy all belong to one family. That is why Yahushua is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. He declares, I will tell my brothers and sisters about your name, and I will sing your praises among the gathered assembly. He also says, I will place my trust in him. And again he declares, Here I am, together with the children Elohim has given me. Now think about why Yahushua came in human flesh. Because the children share flesh and blood, he chose to share that same human life. He did this so that through his own death, he could defeat the one who held the power of death, the devil. And by doing so, he could free those who had spent their entire lives living in fear of death, trapped in bondage to that fear. Yahushua did not come to take on the nature of angels. He came as a descendant of Abraham. That is why he needed to become like his brothers and sisters in every way. He came to be a merciful and faithful High Priest before Elohim, making reconciliation for the sins of the people. And here is something we should always remember. Yahushua knows what it means to suffer. He knows what it means to face temptation because he experienced suffering and temptation himself. And because he has experienced those struggles, he is able to help us when we face temptation too.
