[Verse 1] Rain tapped on my window glass I almost let the day just pass My shoes were soaked, my luck was thin Then you stepped out and pulled me in You shook the water from your hair Like you had sunlight hidden there One look and time got out of line Your smile said, "Maybe, take your time" [Pre-Chorus] And the clouds kept moving slow But my heart began to glow You laughed like you knew the way To turn a gray day gold [Chorus] On a rainy day, I found you Yeah, the storm was spinning ’round you The world was washed in blue Then a sudden spark caught true On a rainy day, I found you When the sky was falling through Now every drop that falls Feels like a love call [Verse 2] We shared one chair at the café Steam on the glass, your eyes on me Your fingers traced a little wave Across my paper coffee sleeve You said the rain can wash things clean I said it brings out what we mean And when you leaned in close to speak My lonely heart forgot to beat [Pre-Chorus] And the clouds kept moving slow But my heart began to glow You laughed like you knew the way To turn a gray day gold [Chorus] On a rainy day, I found you Yeah, the storm was spinning ’round you The world was washed in blue Then a sudden spark caught true On a rainy day, I found you When the sky was falling through Now every drop that falls Feels like a love call [Bridge] Let it pour on the avenue I'm only looking right at you If the sky breaks open wide I'll keep your hand in mine [Final Chorus] On a rainy day, I found you Yeah, the storm was spinning ’round you The world was washed in blue Then a sudden spark caught true On a rainy day, I found you When the sky was falling through Now every drop that falls Feels like a love call [Outro] Let the rain keep falling down We’re the brightest stars in town Just you and I, perfect timing While the silver clouds are lining
