Auren — The Reluctant Watchman
[Low Male Choir] Ohhh… Auren… The night is calling… The Wall is waiting… [Verse 1] Cold winds rise across the stone, Another night he stands alone. No crown he seeks, no songs of fame, Yet still the watchman guards the flame. Black cloak dancing in the snow, Sword in hand, nowhere to go. Wolf upon the silver blade, Another promise must be paid. [Chorus] And now my watch begins… Through bitter snow and northern winds. Though I never chose this wall, I will stand when shadows fall. No comforting lie will change my mind, I guard what I believe is right. So let the endless winter come… My watch begins. [Verse 2] Darkened armor, weary eyes, Black sunglasses beneath gray skies. He hates the cold, he hates the Wall, He questions why he came at all. Yet when the distant war horns sound, Auren slowly turns around. One tired sigh, his sword held high— “Fine… I suppose nobody else will.” [Choir Builds] Hold the Wall… Guard the night… Stand your ground… Do what’s right… [Final Chorus] And now my watch begins! Let winter howl upon the wind. No throne, no glory waits for me, Only duty I believe. Wolf blade shining through the night, One reluctant man still holds the line. Until the morning sun shall rise… My watch… begins. [Outro — quiet male voice] “I hate this job.”
