Dust on the road and the windows down, We drove all day just to hear this sound. You saved a place by a faded chair, Said, “Come on over, there’s room right here.” Some came laughing, some came worn, Some hadn’t sung since the year before. Then that first chord rolled across the field, And we found a little room to heal. One pair of hands, then a thousand more, Feet finding rhythm on the open-air floor. Whatever you carried through those gates, Set it down let the music take its place. Carry the light, carry it home, Nobody here has to dance alone. Love’s got a rhythm, give it a voice, Out in the field, make a beautiful noise! Lovestock hearts open wide, A little more love on the other side. under one sky, Carry the light, keep it alive! carry the light, keep it alive! Rain came down halfway through the set, We just laughed we were already wet. Somebody danced with a broken shoe, Soon half the hillside was dancing too. Different stories, different names, For one good chorus, we sang the same. You took the high notes, I took the low, The band leaned back and let us go. One small spark in a sea of hands, See how it grows! Pass it along till the back row stands, Let everybody know! We don’t need to agree on everything, To stand right here and sing. Carry the light, carry it home, Nobody here has to dance alone. Love’s got a rhythm, give it a voice, Out in the field, make a beautiful noise! Lovestock hearts open wide, A little more love on the other side. under one sky, Carry the light, keep it alive! Got a little love? Pass it on! Got a little hope? Pass it on! When the last song ends? Carry it home! When somebody needs you? They’re not alone! We can’t fix it all tonight, But we can hold each other tight. Start with the person by your side, Let that be how we carry the light. Tomorrow there’ll be cups to clear, An empty stage where we stood here. We’ll fold these blankets, pack these cars, Take different roads beneath the stars. But when the week gets hard and long, Call me up we’ll sing this song. Let it be more than a night we knew, Let a little of tonight come through. Carry the light, carry it home, Nobody here has to dance alone. Love’s got a rhythm, give it a voice, Out in the field, make a beautiful noise! Lovestock hearts open wide, A little more love on the other side. under one sky, Carry the light, keep it alive! carry the light, into the night. under one sky, Carry the light, keep it alive! Leave with a song and a couple new names, Go make somebody glad that you came. Till we’re together, wherever you roam, Carry the light Carry it home. Lovestock, you sound beautiful! Thank you, Storytellers, and everyone who made this happen! Take care of each other. We love you good night!
