[POWER] - The Determination to Seek the Pinnacle of Oneself
HOSI NO MAKIMONO Seventeenth Release: "[POWER] - The Determination to Seek the Pinnacle of Oneself" There are no lyrics for this song. Instead, I invite you to listen closely and share with me what kind of story it is able to paint for you with instruments alone. [POWER] is the third of the five tracks leading up to the conclusion of this album. Similar to the theme it represents, its creation was an uphill battle against the looming specter of unpleasant audio quality. However, the melody and style at its foundation were such a good match for my vision that I felt the need to persist regardless. In the end, I believe my perseverance paid off, as ironically the quality finally clears up in the section where the instrumental "decreases" in quality. To wallow in weakness is to err, while to be motivated by weakness is to strive. This song seeks to portray the continued journey of one once bound by such weakness as they continue their ascent to ever greater heights. Some wear armor to safeguard their bodies, and others to conceal their identity. Others still may don it to shield the strength without from the weakness that still lies within. In the perpetual process of self-refinement, one must never forget where they came from, yet never be compelled to look back. The path that lies ahead is an ever inclining slope, a mountain with no true peak. Yet the determined one seeks it all the same. Recall those frigid, biting winds amidst the blood-bathed ruins — but do not be bound by their memory, for this quest is not one of vengeance. Recall the bitter, brutal struggles endured along this path — but do not think of them as passed, for such is a constant of life. Forever pursue the strong — let them be your master and your prey. Forever hone your blade — let it clear your path and guide you true. Forever gaze to the morrow, unburdened and resolute — let every new day bring a new challenge, a new chance at betterment. Thus, one might ever advance ahead of the evils that seek to drag them down. So it is said: "Never yield to laxity, for that which would threaten your peace seldom rests in your absence." I hope that [POWER] was able to convey the endless, arduous ascent of this wandering knight to you, and bring you some small sliver of enjoyment in the process. Please stay tuned for future releases.
