(Style: High-Energy Power Metal, 145 BPM, galloping drums, dual guitar harmonies) [Intro] (Fast, galloping double-bass drum beat with soaring dual electric guitar harmonies) (Thundering bassline dropping into a high-energy rhythm) [Verse 1] Adoni-zedek king of Salem heard with growing dread How Joshua took Jericho and Ai and left them dead! And how the men of Gibeon had made a peace decree, Five kings of Amorites allied in desperate rivalry! They gathered up their armies and besieged the city wall, Gibeon sent to Gilgal crying, "Save us lest we fall!" Joshua marched up all night with warriors brave and bold, The Lord said, "Do not fear them, I have handed them your hold!" [Pre-Chorus] (Tempo accelerates, sweeping guitar arpeggios) Joshua came upon them by surprise in early light, The Lord threw them into panic in the middle of the fight! Chased them down the Beth-horon ascent along the track, While heaven threw huge hailstones down upon the fleeing back! [Chorus] (Explosive power metal drop, soaring vocals) Sun, stand still over Gibeon high! Moon, stay still in Aijalon's sky! Until the nation takes vengeance on its foes today! The sun stopped in the sky and delayed its setting way! No day like it before or since when God obeyed a voice... Fighting for His Israel, the people of His choice! [Verse 2] (Galloping drums, chugging power chords) More died from the hailstones that fell down from the cloud Than Israel's army slaughtered with the sword among the crowd! Then Joshua spoke to the Lord before all Israel's eyes, Commanding sun and moon to hold their places in the skies! [Pre-Chorus] (Tempo accelerates, sweeping guitar arpeggios) Joshua came upon them by surprise in early light, The Lord threw them into panic in the middle of the fight! [Bridge] (Music shifts to a slow, heavy mid-tempo groove with massive guitar chords) (Epic, theatrical vocal delivery) Is it not written in the Book of Jashar standing true? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky the whole day through! About a whole day it delayed to set behind the hill, For the Lord Almighty fought to work His holy will! [Guitar Solo] (Fast, lightning-quick twin guitar trade-offs and sweeping arpeggios) [Chorus] (Maximum intensity, high vocal screeches, full power metal barrage) Sun, stand still over Gibeon high! Moon, stay still in Aijalon's sky! Until the nation takes vengeance on its foes today! The sun stopped in the sky and delayed its setting way! No day like it before or since when God obeyed a voice... Fighting for His Israel, the people of His choice! [Outro] (Fast galloping double-bass finish with soaring lead guitar) Sun stand still! The longest day! (Final crashing drum roll and sustained power chord)
