Mortal Worth ---------------- Before the world had learned your name A mark was set before your birth The gods had written your decree The dawn-light on your brow For grace was always free What no man earns the gods bestow They choose the ones that they will know Before your first breath you were known A gift laid down before your birth The gods have claimed their own Of more than mortal worth While others fought for every gift You rose above their toil and plea The world laid at your feet For grace was always free What no man earns the gods bestow They choose the ones that they will know Before your first breath you were known A gift laid down before your birth The gods have claimed their own Of more than mortal worth The storm may rage and thunder call Yet those the gods love do not fall No fight was ever won What heaven wills is done Before your first breath you were known A gift laid down before your birth The gods have claimed their own Of more than mortal worth And all of it was yours And so it was decreed --- "Mortal Worth" Copyright © 2026 Rick n' Stolti.
