Turn It Up (Don't Turn It Loose)

[Intro – Spoken / Group Chant] Alright now— Everybody on the floor! If you feel that beat… Don’t fight it! [Verse 1] I was standing still when I heard that sound Little bit of soul going all around Bassline talking, drums say “go” Feet start moving, now I’m losing control Saw you smiling from across the room Like you knew this night would end too soon Every step got me closer to you When the groove’s this right, what else can you do? [Pre-Chorus] Feel it in your shoulders Feel it in your shoes Once that rhythm grabs you Ain’t no way to lose [Chorus – Big Hook] Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose Let that funky little rhythm do what it do Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose When the beat’s this hot, you got nothin’ to prove Round and round, let the night run wild Every grown-up dancing like a child Turn it up—oh don’t turn it loose Let the groove, let the groove break through [Verse 2] Sweeter than a Saturday night City glowing in neon light Hands in the air, voices loud Feel that love in the moving crowd Every laugh hits right on time Every harmony locked in rhyme When the horns start calling your name You don’t dance the same—you don’t dance the same [Pre-Chorus 2] When the claps fall right on two and four You don’t even need the floor Close your eyes, let the rhythm choose You ain’t got nothin’, nothin’ to lose [Chorus] Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose Let that funky little rhythm do what it do Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose When the beat’s this hot, you got nothin’ to prove Round and round, let the night run wild Every grown-up dancing like a child Turn it up—oh don’t turn it loose Let the groove, let the groove break through [Bridge – Call & Response Breakdown] Let me hear you say “hey!” (Hey!) Say “whoa!” (Whoa!) If the groove got you moving Let the whole world know Clap it once—clap! Clap it twice—clap clap! If you feel that Motown magic Ain’t no turning back [Final Chorus – Lift & Repeat] Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose Feel that fire when the rhythm hits you Turn it up (turn it up!) Don’t turn it loose Every heartbeat dancing in truth Round and round, till the break of dawn When the music’s right, we carry on Turn it up—oh don’t turn it loose Let the groove, let the groove break through [Outro – Fade with Harmonies] (Ooh yeah) turn it up (Don’t let go) don’t turn it loose As long as that beat keeps calling my name I’m gonna dance… I’m gonna dance… I’m gonna dance with you
