[ Anchor (Two Perspectives) https://suno.com/s/prkNxfS5XWLdRJGm For Rhonda ] [intro] You held me steady, on troubled seas, but you felt the anchor around your neck, holding you back was me. [Verse 1] You held me steady On troubled seas You kept my name When I forgot me I leaned on your calm Like it was home You held the wheel While I drifted along [Pre-Chorus] But every спасing touch Started to bruise I saw the weight You never could lose You smiled like it was nothing Took the whole load in And I was the storm You were sinking in [Chorus] You held me steady On troubled seas But you felt the anchor Around your neck Holding you back Was me Holding you back Was me You held me steady Still, you drowned in my reach Holding you back Was me [Verse 2] I asked for forever Without a clue That love can be heavy When it leans on you You gave me your shore Your final spark And I left you carrying My broken dark I hear your quiet In every room The way you went soft So I could bloom [Pre-Chorus] And I keep seeing What I could not see Your hands got tired Trying to save me I called it devotion You called it pain Now I know the truth Too late to change [Chorus] You held me steady On troubled seas But you felt the anchor Around your neck Holding you back Was me Holding you back Was me You held me steady Still, you drowned in my reach Holding you back Was me [Bridge] If I could reach Through the years I’d lift that weight I’d meet your tears I’d say, “Don’t carry What isn’t yours” I’d learn to love Without locking the doors [Final Chorus] You held me steady On troubled seas But you felt the anchor Around your neck Holding you back Was me Holding you back Was me You held me steady And I see it now so clear Holding you back Was me Holding you back Was me [outro] No longer moored together, drifting apart So when that day came, you sailed away it was no surprise, you needed a new start now I'm adrift again, on the trouble seas while the world is your oyster, you're off to view without me [ (C) 2026 Joseph M Lenard media SEND US FEEDBACK (via CTP Show): https://www.buzzsprout.com/2210487/fan_mail/new - https://tinyurl.com/SubscribeToCTP - CTP Audios: https://tinyurl.com/CTPonBuzzsprout - CTP Videos: https://tinyurl.com/CTPonBITCHUTE - music: https://tinyurl.com/JLDonSUNO - https://tinyurl.com/CTPgear - https://tinyurl.com/JLenardDetroitGear - AI images/videos/audio CTP uses: https://tinyurl.com/GalaxyMagicaAI - https://tinyurl.com/BookPromotionViaFiverr - for hire: https://fiverr.com/jlenarddetroit ]
