OC#3: love vs hate

V6

[Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1] The word for the day: self-love Shall we give it a little shove? A stress test, a loving hug Dig as below, to explore as above [Chopped Guttural Hook] Self-love… self-love… A little shove… Loving hug… loving hug… Explore as above… [Verse 2] Today the prompt to consider In the motions it might render Pensive reflections, more tender Awareness and salience engendered Is the concept of love for the self And the pursuits towards health That are assisted by accumulating a wealth Of said concept, avoiding stealth And evasive maneuvers to escape Into a realm more described by hate At least that was the frame and state Established in the group this morning [Heavy Breakdown] [Chopped Guttural Hook] Love and hate… love and hate… Self-love… self-love… [Verse 3] But it got me thinking about more things Than just the pure binary opposition Of love and hate as often positioned As the proper division to envision One I think just breeds indecision When trying to avoid the derision That comes when one's condition Is locked in a place of friction Cognitive dissonance for more precision Trying to reduce love and hate to simple opposites In a perspective plentiful and available to common wit However, I think the truth within it Is misleading if one considers the rift As the illusion it truly is [Drop] [Chopped Guttural Hook] The word for the day: self-love Shall we give it a little shove? A stress test, a loving hug Dig as below, to explore as above [Verse 4] Discern the binary that exists If there is one that persists I try to engage with it as it presents But all I can perceive is dissent Let us consider the nature of hate Now as it stands, in order to approximate A better understanding of the debate As contrasted to love and its shape What about the two suggests they oppose? One is negative and one is positive, I suppose [Verse 5] But if you look underneath the proposed schema You might see the throes of a more complex arrangement No need for any derangement You ain't gotta feel the pain spent To know what it is the thing meant Hate and love share an elementary seed Of preoccupation, as well as intensity One positive and one negative, indeed Thus suggesting opposition in need And framing it as a simplified one-D line Loses nuance in exchange for speed Of processing and comprehension agreed [Brutal Extended Breakdown] [Chopped Guttural Hook] Love and hate… can coexist… Self-love… self-love… [Verse 6] Much like the differing atomic model we All learned in grade school: there's a trade-off for a reason As it helps to instill a shade of understanding But it necessarily must admit an air of imprecision Instead they can be understood as more salient Arrangements of human expressive valence Meaning the arrangement of experiential intent As it tends to occur to us all in moments spent Hate and love can peacefully coexist any moment Without immediate annihilation being the consequent Thus implicating a more fundamental element Unifying the two into a more nuanced implement [Verse 7] A false dichotomy, invented to help Understand what is usually only felt It helps to grasp at the moment But nuance helps growth become enthroned in The forward progress of understanding And understand this ain't me demanding Agreement of the propositions thus standing Only presenting an idea currently in planning [Verse 8] These are just some thoughts as they occur In my head from time to time, tending to recur And resurfacing when relevant stimuli spur Them out and cognitive inquest is insured But I digress, the point is merely to express What must be a hot take, I might expect Definitely not a common arrangement of context But certainly not entirely de novo as it sets itself out My perspective has been built on the shoulders of giants And what they instilled into my understanding As it has been distilled into the specific formulation Which I have shared [Bridge] My only hope is that it might inspire repair Of established cognitive patterns that scare One away from fully approaching life as they dare Dream of being the most fruitful arrangement compared To any other they've come to know as typical A life less lived would certainly be less plentiful But I have no judgment nor aspersions to cast Merely stating my understanding of the facts With the intention that you might hope to be One day more fully and truly free [Final Guttural Hook] The word for the day: self-love Shall we give it a little shove? A stress test, a loving hug Dig as below, to explore as above [Outro - Heavily Slowed and Explosive Screamed Reprise] Self-love… self-love… A little shove… More fully… truly free…
