Biting winds and bright white landscape Her footprints like a fading call Naked trees and echoing parkways Finding calmness in it all She wandered into snowy lands Sparkly white upon all things Tucked away her freezing hands Searching for her little darlings The icy forest held the pure silence Birds and bees no longer there Everything covered in frosty violence No flowers scent in the air She walked along the silent woods Looking for some life to hold But biting cold kills, she understood Life sometimes has to fold While turning back she heard a sound A little scratching and screech She turned around and searched the ground There stood a squirrel so sweet Her heart went soft and smile so big She reached inside her jacket Throwing out some nuts and figs They silently sunk into the white blanket The squirrel went looking and found the treats His eyes so filled with joy Now she was ready to leave with ease Whispering; I'll come back soon,my boy Winter woods and cold despair still Her heart felt warm with care The frozen landscape not a thrill But some life still thrives there
