[Verse 1] Green grass on our ankles And sunscreen on our skin You said “jump in, jump in” So we did Your mom’s in the kitchen We’re laughing so loud Blue float in the corner Like a cloud [Pre-Chorus] The sun keeps slipping Through the fence slats You splash at me I splash back [Chorus] Backyard pool, backyard pool We’re young and a little wild You're so cool, you're so cool Can I stay with you a while (Backyard pool) (Backyard pool) [Verse 2] Flip flops on the tile Heat waves in the air Hot dogs on the grill Chlorine hair We made up a promise Over soda and popsicles That nothing would change When summer goes [Pre-Chorus] The day feels endless When we're this close One more lap then its time to go [Chorus] Backyard pool, backyard pool We’re young and a little wild You're so cool, you're so cool Can I stay with you a while (Backyard pool) (Backyard pool) [Bridge] When the sky turns peach And the Sun gets dim We’ll dry off slow Then dive back in [Chorus] Backyard pool, backyard pool We’re young and a little wild You're so cool, you're so cool Can I stay with you a while (Backyard pool) (Backyard pool)
