Shield of Sound [Intro] [Sampled choir pad, TR-909 hi-hats, synth bass pulses] A shield of sound… around me… A shield of sound… surrounds me… [Verse 1] When the arrows fly and the walls cave in When the night is thick and I can't see Him There's a frequency I can't explain A holy signal through the pain You're the armor I put on You're the light before the dawn [Chorus] You're my shield of sound, my covering Your mercy falls like rain on everything You protect me from the unseen You're the safest place I've ever been Shield of sound… shield of sound… [Post-Chorus] [Flanged guitar riff, synth stabs, vocoder harmonies] I'm safe… I'm safe… In Your mercy I'm safe… I'm safe… I'm safe… In Your goodness I'm safe… [Verse 2] The enemy may try to break But Your promises I will not shake You're the wall that cannot fall You're the answer when I call Your goodness follows me each day Your protection leads the way [Chorus] You're my shield of sound, my covering Your mercy falls like rain on everything You protect me from the unseen You're the safest place I've ever been Shield of sound… shield of sound… [Breakdown] [Synth pad solo, drums filter out, female vocal processed with delay] Nothing can touch me… nothing can harm me… You're all around me… You're all around me… Nothing can touch me… nothing can harm me… Your love has found me… Your love has found me… [Final Chorus] You're my shield of sound, my covering Your mercy falls like rain on everything You protect me from the unseen You're the safest place I've ever been Shield of sound… shield of sound… [Outro] [TR-909 beat fades, synth bass pulses out, vocoder whispers] Safe… safe… in Your sound… Safe… safe… I am found…
